Spring ORC Week 7

Well guys, it’s CRUNCH TIME!!! There were a lot of exciting things that happened this week and I can’t wait to show you the reveal next week! I’m still waiting on my ceiling flush mount (supposed to be delivered Monday) and my wall lantern… it’s being shipped by truck so I’m hoping that it gets here in time for the reveal! But here’s a list of things that happened this week:

  1. The cabinetry got installed! If you watched some of my stories on instagram, I gave some peeks and it is beautiful! I’m so happy with the door profile and crown/base finish options.

  2. The marble got templated AND installed! This was obviously a very small job for the fabricator, and with the cabinet install happening later than originally anticipated I was so worried this would not get done in time. He told me he could probably install by Wednesday of next week, but ended up getting it templated and installed within two days! He was amazing and so easy to work with. This project was all done by hand and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

  3. We got the butcher block cut and installed. I will link to the product in the reveal post, but this is the first time I have used this particular brand of butcher block and it is by far my favorite white oak option! The grain is beautiful, and the variation is minimal.

  4. We also hung the brass clothes hanging rod and the brass cafe curtain rod and boy are the pretty!

Although it seems like we made huge leaps this week, I am definitely feeling the pressure! I still need to sew the cafe curtain, source some items for styling as I’ve totally procrastinated that aspect of the reveal, get light fixtures hung, sand/seal the butcher block, touch up paint, and install outlet covers and baseboards. Instead of using a traditional air vent, we decided when we were laying the tile to try and make the air vent out of tile, so there is a little rectangular area we left around the air vent that will hold a loose/removable tile, and we still need to drill holes into that for airflow as well! It’s a lot of small items, but as you all know the weeks just seem to fly by. I think we can finish strong though and I can’t wait to have this room complete. I’ve already been doing laundry here and it’s been a game changer…those Steele hampers were 100% worth the money and it’s been so nice to fold on countertops! With the washer and dryer being raised now I just roll the hampers under the dryer, drop the clothes in, and fold. I’m hoping the motivation to fold right away doesn’t wear off :)

I don’t want to give too much away for next week, but I can’t resist giving you a few sneak peeks!
